Today:
mythology = myth-making machine + operation ↔ perpetuum mobile
question + (Wow) = adj – death
technology + plow = laser printer + a field,
nature + Echo = keyboard – 0
endure + x + endure + 2x + … + nx = endure
Narcissus + [ ] = self + typing
+
= Pan
Today the place of myth is no place
The place of myth is not
But it should be looked for
And so it might emerge
Where one least expects it
The book of myths is endless but it remains to be written to infinity
And so
There it goes –
It continues
Mythology, the machine for myth-making is in operation
And keeps running
Like a perpetuum mobile
Yet even if the place of myth today is no-place
The question of what one makes up and what makes one up
Remains
And there remains the mytho-poetic
– the opening of a space that allows one to create
rituals of understanding around the social space
around pervasive epistemological-ontological constructs (according to Ricardo Dominguez)
- a meta-space for transmission
(according to Ricardo Dominguez, again)
where conversation can happen
where experimentation can happen.
And there’s the fact of endurance (yet, is it a fact?)
- of the myth that endures
- of what endures through myth
- of what endures as myth
- of what suffers (some kind of change/transformation) and, suffering, (change/transformation) continues through time.
So, even if the place of myth today is no-place
The question of what one makes up and what makes one up
Remains
Here, the question is being taken up
posed
and explored/
It asks about myth as a condition of possibility
for a particular manner of thinking and kind of thought
for a kind of experience of thought that is yet to be found
It asks about mythology as an embracing of undecidability
with respect to nature and technology
today.
“The real must be fictionalized in order to be thought.”
(Jacques Rancière, The Politics of Aesthetics)
